Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail south from Massillon to Zoar

Head south on the Towpath from Massillon for a lovely historical tour route that overlooks the Tuscarawas River. In Massillon you'll pass under the oldest iron bridge in Ohio.  In Bolivar, you can visit Ohio's only Revolutionary War fort. The route ends in Zoar, where homes have been carefully preserved from the Zoar Village Separatist community founded there in 1817. Zoar is on the National Registry of Historical Places and has been designated a National Historic Landmark District. 

Route Terrain: The limestone trail is mostly flat. Distance from Massillon to Zoar is 20 miles.
